Styles: HOW DID YOU ARRIVE AT YOU NAME ICYANGEL? ANY CONNOTATION BEHIND IT?
IcyAngel: Well When I was 16 my brother bought me a pet. This was the first and only pet I have ever had. It was an Iguana.. Yup a reptile. and I thought about it being a cold blooded animal so Ice fell right in. Hence in building the site I used something of sentimental value to me (a gift from my brother/first pet) and the Angel. I added for the concept of Spirituality which is important to me. Slap them together and you've got IcyAngel...

Styles: WHAT ABOUT YETTY, I’m GUESSING IT IS FROM YETUNDE, IF NOT, PLS ELABORATE
IcyAngel: Of course Yetty is from Yetunde. Which means Mother has returned. So technically I am supposed to be my Grandmother. I've been told I act like an old woman and I definitely do not deny that. LOL I have been known to try to mother everyone that comes by me... I guess old Habits die hard lol!

Styles: WOULD YOU MOTHER ME IF I ASKED?
IcyAngel: You wouldn't need to ask. lol I do it automatically.

Styles: HAPPY NEW YEAR....HOW WAS 2003 for you?...and WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS for this year 2004?
IcyAngel: Same to you. 2003 was hmmm... what's the word? It was a major life changing year. I left my family, loved ones and quit my job and I moved to a new city where I didn't really know anyone, I got a new Job, made a lot of spiritual decision, friend related decisions and a lot of professional decisions. It was a near of personal and professional growth. Still trying to take it all fit for me. I would so love to say what I have in mind, but as they say silence is deadly. When it is all completed, you will know something about it.
Styles: So you are no more in Chicago?...that means I no go show face for Chicago 2004 NRC reunion...

Styles: ANYWAY GOING THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE, I COULD SEE YOU GOT A BANGING BODY, A NICE FACE TO MATCH…DO YOU WORKOUT? OR YOU ARE JUST LIKE THAT?...
IcyAngel: Bangin? wetin boy hush. I'm a skinny chic that got lucky only because America loves fairly on being slim I know how much I got teased about being slim, I got over it after my brother bullied the crap out of me. I used to take Yoga and Kickboxing but I haven't been doing that since I moved, but I will try to get into it again this spring besides I loooove to dance and well.... most of my family members are slim, so it's sorta hereditary.

Styles: ARE YOU A MODEL?
IcyAngel: Yes. partime though, and I have a full time job I do it for the fun, the clothes, and the extra cash.

Styles: PEOPLE CAN MISIDENTIFY you with TNAIJA...I know I did before...What do you have to say about that? and WHAT DID YOU THINK OF TNAIJA?
IcyAngel: How? we don't look alike hmm.. This is the first time I'm hearing this. Well for ppl who do that, to them I'll say well...nothing really what is there to say.
I have had the chance to interview TNAIJA and I've gotta say my first impression is that she is an outstanding woman who can serve as an inspiration to so many Women of color in this industry. This woman is putting NAIJA on the map. More power to her certainly.

Styles: WHAT MAP?
IcyAngel: On the Fashion Industry Map. Do you have any idea how many African models are in the industry? Very few and If we can hand one of our own there why not.

Styles: SPEAKING OF NIGERIA, DO YOU KEEP YOURSELF UPDATED WITH STUFFS AND NEWS FROM NAIJA…EITHER POLITICAL OR ENTERTAINMENT?
IcyAngel: I try my best to be on top of News. I'm not into politics put occasionally, I am forced to pay attention to it. I get most of my new from www.jazzynigerians.com. I'm almost always logged on there and it has an applet powered by allafrica where I read top Nigerian new for the day and move on. For entertainment I check with Gisters.com and Nigerianentertainent.com

Styles: TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF IN 10 SENTENCES?
IcyAngel: 10 sentences. lol! phew that's a lot. I'll try. I'm a Nigerian woman born to a family of 2. I am very goal oriented. I am passionate about almost everything in my life even eating food . I am very goofy, partially clumsy and I love to have fun. I love to work smart and try to enjoy whatever I am doing.
I am very detail oriented and it can be a flaw. I am anal about tidiness and I'm a perfectionist by nature.
I can be quit annoying when I don't get my way. but I am open enough to see someone else point if they make a valid case. I love to learn. and I love to dance with a good dancer.

Styles: VALENTINES DAY IS COMING UP, DO YOU SIGNIFICANT OTHER IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW?
IcyAngel: Yes I do!

Styles: HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN MORE THAN ONE RELATIONSHIP IN THE PAST?
IcyAngel: Yes I have had past relationships.

Styles: WHICH CHARACTER QUALITY OF YOUR BEST BOYFRIEND STANDS OUT TILL TODAY?
IcyAngel: What stands out the best is the level of communication. It is simply.. Unique gives room for a woman to be comfortable.

IcyAngel: Nope.... I be Ijebu woman we have a rep for being hmmm... basically we don't share... Nope I won't share, I refuse to In my relationship I gotta get the attention no splitting with some chic.. no thank you sir. lol!

Styles: WHAT’S THE KINKIEST STUFF YOU’VE DONE IN BED?
IcyAngel: The kinkiest stuff I have done in bed is.... when I ......hmmm.. I could explain but it might give you a headache so I'll save it for the mind of the person that can contain it.

IcyAngel: Sweety maybe you can but I'm not so sure about your other readers.. I mean... some kids read this stuff you know. lol!

IcyAngel: Well I've always being allergic to cigarette smell so I have never had the DISPLEASURE to getting hitched under drugs. Wine however is quite a sexy, sexy drink.. Zinfandel to be more specific.

IcyAngel: LOL~ Heeeells NO! are you crazy lol! and laying your head on my jolly belly?.... I'll yank you by the ears (The same way our parents used to do to us as kids where our ear turn really hot and red) and kick you to the curb... you dig? lol`

Styles: TELL ME YOUR PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE
IcyAngel: That is a very broad question and if you let me run with it, you'll get tired of reading.
Bottom line
Life is only as serious as you take it. I've had my days of being an effico, being snotty, being razz and being a major joke. As a result I have learned that Life will give me only so many chances. I might pass away tomorrow and if I do the question will be " Was I content with my life?" and my answer any day will be yes. As of this moment of my life in this exact time, nothing in this world affects me so much that I feel I have to stay alive. Life is things and I CAN NOT let things be my reason for wanting to stay. I mean I love my loved ones and It will be a perfect excuse to stay but I ultimately believe that we really are all alone in this world. I came alone, I'll leave alone. So why get attached in the first place. To find your solitude and then accept it I think is the most difficult task as human beings. I want to learn to be unattached achieve even a minute amount of absolute spiritual understanding, and still have an effect...

Styles: TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU ON THE MOST MEMORABLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR?
IcyAngel: Most. I won't say a most memorable, I think I'm yet to have one but one day that stands out for me
We had been talking for 3-4 months. Yeah I can be a tough cookie lol! I had just got in from work about 7pm EST. I had a box on my front door Opened it up, there was a box of chocolate, a rosy candle, and a card that just said " T's me and I think what must have been "I love you" in his own code.. I was in awe. Mostly coz I had never received a box of chocolate ever from ANY man!. Then 10 minutes later, the phone rang. I heard his voice and then he played the piano for me over the phone. That was it....

Styles: WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON THE PRESENT ECONOMY AND GOVERNMENTAL SITUATION IN NIGERIA?
IcyAngel: My take.... I can't wait till the old guys kaput so the young cats can get in there and learn a thing or two. And yes even if they have been corrupted by the old regime, they have a whole lot more potential than the older folks there. We need to see what our generation can do. I mean what in the world does a 70-80 need to be doing office... go retire u've done enough......

Styles: WHAT’S ONE THING THAT’S VERY SYNONYMOUS WITH YOU?
IcyAngel: hmmm... Naija and grammar... which one be synonymous again o lol! just kidding. Well depends on what you are referring to. I will say the one thing "synonymous" to me is energy. I'm always on the go. In a lot of the things I lay my hands or mind on. I'm very high energy and it's not speradic it's constant, So it mighty hard for ppl to keep up.

Styles: WHAT's YOUR OCCUPATION NOW and WHERE IS YOUR LOCATION?
IcyAngel: Full time occupation
I'm a National Accounts/Marketing Coordinator for a major plastics distribution company in North America and Canada .I am located in West Palm Beach, FL

Styles: DO YOU WATCH NIGERIAN MOVIES?
IcyAngel: Yes I do.. Love them to bits.

Styles: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SO FAR?...AND WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE NIGERIAN MOVIE STAR?
IcyAngel: I can wait till we have like a Naija Netflicks I will absolutely patronize that business. My favorite so far is FLESH and BLOOD. I took production classes in college, so I know a couple of things about a good shoot, medium shot, panning e.t.c. That movie was just outstanding. I'm a serious critic of Naija movies. I pay attention to detail and even the screenshot techniques. Flesh and Blood was just a GOOD movie a few jump cuts here and there, but the script was good, the acting crew were very natural. And the fact that they used One person to act two parts (Eddie Murphy type stunt) And did it with ppl actually thinking it was 2 ppl. THAT was a GOOD Movie.. mehn! After all this one they need to send me a check for the props I just gave them lol!

Styles: WHAT CAN WE IN DIASPORA DO TO HELP NIGERIA SITUATION?
IcyAngel: For one we can start by learning to trust our own and then investing in our own businesses. Enough of that negative energy.
I mean I've had friends that invest interest in Naija business or they give business to their own and they get screwed over. It's discouraging. I am guilty of that as well. We all have to form a habit of living with each other and working on it. We need each other and unless we start finding business in our selves we will be lost in this darn Diaspora that we are so willing to give 102% of our time to.

Styles: Brilliant...SO WHAT DO YOU SAY ABOUT Nigerian businesses that take joy in mediorcicy. I MEAN THEY WANT YOU TO ACCEPT second grade services from them just because you are A NAIJA?
IcyAngel: I refuse to accept that. Example: I was at an African Restaurant in Atlanta in October and the waiter was absolutely out of sync with the rules of being a waiter. Brought the wrong food for two people. Had an attitude and had the nerve to tell us to manage the food. I am not one to shut up. I had my say and actually talked to the restaurant owner about his service....
Right now I am forming a habit of working and aligning myself with Nigerians that define professionalism and can come to me as a client and as a Nigerian. E.g. the site www.jenofenology.com or www.osidosi.com I have had my experiences with them and they deliver top notch work and get the job done precisely as defined. without loosing touch of the fact that they are Nigerians and can be very professional. If I see wrong I point it out. I can't stand a sore toe.
